Important update to the assembly manual (All greenhouses)
It was brought to our attention the assembly manual is not showing where L08C-X and L08D-X need to be fitted. These braces are a very important component for structural strength of the greenhouse. Without these braces fitted the whole structure will be very flimsy. Please make sure these braces are in position. They are bolted in the corners of the walls and also in the corners of the roof. A picture explains more then a thousand words. Please take a good look at following detailed picture:
Watch the braces fitted in all corners. They are fitted under an angle of approx. 45 degrees.
Affected by high winds
One of our customers lives in a very exposed area in the South of Tasmania. According to Colin it's a very nice place to live but often very windy. Colin purchased one of our biggest greenhouses, the RC-86701D-G and came up with some cheap but very effective re-enforcements. We like to share the ideas that Colin came up with.
This is what Colin wrote to us:
Hallo Luc,
At last I've managed to get some pictures of the greenhouse onto the email. I'm not a very expert emailer!. However, as you can see I have reinforced the structure considerably with angles on the inside and flats on the outside. The angles on the inside of the roof are about 350mm apart. Flats fixed with hex bolts.
This seems to have worked. The frame is quite rigid now and we have had more ferocious gales this week which has tested it but it's OK. I spent about $250 on the aluminium. You can also tell that we are quite exposed out the back which is where the winds mostly come from.
Again many thanks for your support. Also the plants inside are growing well - as you'd expect!
